With the heat of summer in full swing, many customers (and Etsy sellers) are likely enjoying a well-deserved break. It&#8217;s no surprise that Etsy sales aren&#8217;t soaring right now. There was a slight drop in sales compared to the previous month, down by just 1.5%. This is much less than last month&#8217;s decline of a little over 5%. Rest assured, everything is fine with Etsy. The Koalanda team has been tracking daily sales for over two years and we haven&#8217;t noticed any worrying trends that would make you consider switching platforms for your business. There haven&#8217;t been any significant spikes or dips. The highest sales day was the last day of the month, which might be a hopeful sign for sellers. We almost always find intriguing differences that can be incredibly useful, especially if you&#8217;re new to Etsy and unsure of what to expect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite an overall decline of about 1.5% for the platform, we saw sales growth in four categories compared to June. These categories are Electronics &amp; Accessories (0.6%), Books, Movies &amp; Music (1.7%), Art &amp; Collectibles (2.1%), and Craft Supplies &amp; Tools (2.2%). However, these categories typically have lower sales volumes, so larger deviations from overall trends are common. Among the larger categories, Jewelry also saw a decline in July (-5.3%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#edf5f4;font-size:14px\">It is very useful to compare your results to your competitor shops. The decline for US stores was smaller than the platform average, at nearly 0.5%. In contrast, UK stores saw a nearly 6% drop. French stores experienced a substantial drop compared to June\u2014almost 20%. This is clearly visible when looking at the sales graph for Australia, which saw a 3% increase, and France. This comes after two consecutive months of French stores being among the most successful. Whether this is related to the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris is unclear, as the numbers don&#8217;t indicate that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" in July<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For the first time this year, we&#8217;ve seen an increase in new Etsy stores for the month, with 117,334 new registrations\u2014a 13% rise from June. We anticipate continued growth in the coming months as many new sellers try to jump on board before the big shopping season in November and December.
