The previous months didn\u2019t perform as well as sellers might have hoped, especially when compared to the same period in 2023. On one hand, this is an impressive WOW-worthy increase. A year ago, Etsy sellers achieved about 15% more sales. This means that, while this year\u2019s Black Friday delivered a significant boost compared to previous months, it didn\u2019t quite match the success of last year\u2019s event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sales_on_Etsy_by_category_in_November\"><\/span>Sales on Etsy by category in November<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There were no surprises when examining the sales figures by category\u2014every one of Etsy\u2019s 15 categories saw growth in November. This, however, is entirely expected. Many buyers in this category are Etsy sellers themselves or creators selling on other platforms or in physical stores. At this time of year, they\u2019re typically busy selling, creating, and packing orders rather than shopping for materials. As a result, it\u2019s no surprise that this category experienced more modest growth compared to others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the top of the rankings, two categories stood out with exceptional sales increases: <strong>Home &amp; Living<\/strong>, one of Etsy\u2019s strongest categories overall, and <strong>Bags &amp; Purses<\/strong>, which has a smaller share of total sales. Both saw sales soar by over 85%, meaning sellers in these categories nearly doubled their sales in November compared to October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#edf5f4;font-size:14px\">It is very useful to compare your results to your competitor shops. While that\u2019s not insignificant, it falls short of what we\u2019d typically expect during the Black Friday period.
