Unfortunately, we can\u2019t say the same this time. April sales fell short of March levels, with average daily sales down by about 2%. The reason is clear\u2014April 20th was Easter. We\u2019ve come to expect these kinds of slowdowns around major holidays, especially family-oriented ones, when shopping online isn\u2019t a top priority for most buyers. There\u2019s a good chance that May will bring a welcome rebound in sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sales_on_Etsy_by_category_in_April\"><\/span>Sales on Etsy by category in April<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sales figures by category were lower than the previous month in nearly all of the 15 main categories. The only exceptions were <strong>Shoes<\/strong>, with a modest increase of 1.8%, <strong>Jewelry<\/strong>, up 2.8%, and\u2014unsurprisingly\u2014<strong>Weddings<\/strong>, which saw a significant jump of 8.5%. We\u2019ve often noted that Weddings is one of the most seasonally influenced categories. The summer wedding season consistently drives up sales during the warmer months, followed by a decline during the colder ones. It\u2019s very likely that this category will continue to deliver the most positive results in the coming months. While these categories contribute relatively little to Etsy\u2019s overall sales, <strong>Craft Supplies &amp; Tools<\/strong>\u2014the platform\u2019s largest category, including in April\u2014also saw a notable decline. we look at Etsy\u2019s monthly sales by country, we almost always begin by pointing out that U.S. sales tend to closely mirror the platform\u2019s overall trends. But this month breaks the pattern. The most significant drop came from the <strong>United Kingdom<\/strong>, where sales fell by a sharp <strong>12.55%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>France<\/strong> recorded the second-largest decline, with sales down about <strong>6%<\/strong>.
