Each month we will be publishing on the Koalanda blog a brief report on the Etsy sales of the preceding month. Here is the report for November 2024.

Sales on Etsy in comparison with previous months
We’re happy to start our November Etsy sales report without any major surprises. The previous months didn’t perform as well as sellers might have hoped, especially when compared to the same period in 2023. However, this month finally brings the much-anticipated surge in sales, thanks to Black Friday.
Looking at the numbers, the average daily sales on Etsy in November grew by over 45% compared to October. On one hand, this is an impressive WOW-worthy increase. On the other hand, it’s exactly what we expect when it comes to online sales in November.
That said, if we compare the total sales for November 2024 with November 2023, the results are slightly underwhelming. A year ago, Etsy sellers achieved about 15% more sales. This means that, while this year’s Black Friday delivered a significant boost compared to previous months, it didn’t quite match the success of last year’s event.
Sales on Etsy by category in November
There were no surprises when examining the sales figures by category—every one of Etsy’s 15 categories saw growth in November. The key difference lies in the size of that growth.
The smallest increase was in the Craft Supplies & Tools category, with sales up just 15%, well below the platform average of 45%. This, however, is entirely expected. Many buyers in this category are Etsy sellers themselves or creators selling on other platforms or in physical stores. At this time of year, they’re typically busy selling, creating, and packing orders rather than shopping for materials. As a result, it’s no surprise that this category experienced more modest growth compared to others.
At the top of the rankings, two categories stood out with exceptional sales increases: Home & Living, one of Etsy’s strongest categories overall, and Bags & Purses, which has a smaller share of total sales. Both saw sales soar by over 85%, meaning sellers in these categories nearly doubled their sales in November compared to October.

Sales on Etsy by country in November
The sales figures for the top 10 countries on Etsy tell a similar story—significant growth compared to October and positive news for sellers overall. However, some countries outperformed others by a considerable margin.
Country | September | October | November |
United States | -0.80% | -4.36% | 45.38% |
United Kingdom | -0.50% | 3.38% | 64.39% |
Canada | 1.67% | 1.23% | 37.06% |
Germany | -1.35% | 0.99% | 52.50% |
Australia | -4.44% | 2.47% | 38.23% |
China | 5.11% | -4.61% | 39.06% |
France | 0.33% | -4.66% | 50.17% |

Türkiye | 0.77% | 0.65% | 28.22% |
India | -3.15% | -3.72% | 14.66% |
Sellers in India recorded the smallest growth, with sales up just 15%. While that’s not insignificant, it falls short of what we’d typically expect during the Black Friday period. Sales growth was also below the platform average for shops in Turkey (28%), Ukraine (35%), as well as Australia, China, and Canada.
On the other hand, sellers in the United Kingdom saw impressive growth, with sales increasing by nearly 65%, far surpassing the platform average. Shops in Germany (53%) and France (50%) also performed above average, showcasing strong results for November.

The key now is to focus on delivering orders on time and providing exceptional customer service, especially if any issues arise. Ensuring a smooth experience for your buyers during this busy period can leave a lasting impression and turn holiday shoppers into loyal, repeat customers.
Amid the holiday rush, remember to take a moment to relax, celebrate, and cherish time with your loved ones—after all, the season is about joy and connection, not just hard work.
