The Koalanda Category Inspector displays details and statistics about the shops, listings, and sales within a specific Etsy category. Its purpose is to provide a quick overview of the position of sellers from that category in the Etsy marketplace.
You can find the tool by going to Marketplace / Category Inspector.
Using the Category Inspector
To use the Category Inspector, simply choose the category you are interested in from the dropdown list and click ‘Inspect’.
The tool will present various sections detailing statistics and information about the selected category.
Category overview
The category overview section displays several key metrics for the selected category:
- Shops: The total number of currently active shops in the category.
- Listings: The total number of currently active listings in the category.
- Sales: The total sales made by all currently active shops in the category.
- Sales per shop: The average total sales per shop, calculated across all currently active shops in the category.
For each metric, you can also see the category’s ranking in comparison to all other categories.
Top shops in the category
The top shops section displays a list of the leading shops in the category, ranked by their total sales numbers. You can access a comprehensive list of all the category’s shops by clicking the ‘View all shops’ button.
Top countries from the category
The top countries section shows how the category’s shops are distributed across the various countries.
